New in Flaevo: Flae Plugins, the Academic Writer, and More Course Uploads

This update turns Flae from something you ask questions into something you hand work to. Here's what's new.

Flae Plugins

Flae now has plugins — tools you point at a conversation. Open the + menu in the AI Tutor and tap Plugins, or just type @ in the message box and pick one from the list that appears.

There are four to start with:

  • Quiz Me — turn what you've been discussing into a practice test.
  • Make Flashcards — build a deck from the same conversation for spaced review.
  • Write a Message — draft an email, a WhatsApp message, or a note to a lecturer.
  • Academic Writer — essays, reports, thesis sections and research writing.

Quiz Me and Make Flashcards always confirm the topic with you first. If you've been chatting with Flae about your sleep or your exam nerves and you tap Quiz Me, it won't quietly generate a quiz about your personal life — it shows you exactly what it's about to use, and you can change it.

The draft card

This is the part we spent the most time on.

When Flae writes something for you, the finished piece appears in its own card, separate from the conversation around it. That matters because Flae naturally says things like "Here's your message — want it shorter?", and none of that belongs in the email you're about to send.

The card gives you:

  • Copy — copies the draft only, as clean plain text. Formatting marks like **bold** are stripped, because pasting those into Gmail or WhatsApp shows the asterisks instead of bold text.
  • Share — sends the draft straight to WhatsApp, Gmail, or anywhere else on your phone.
  • Show full draft — long pieces stay collapsed so a five-page report doesn't bury your chat.

One-tap rewrites

Under every finished draft you'll now find quick buttons: Make it longer, More formal, More critical, Add references, Shorten it. Tap one and Flae rewrites the piece — no need to type out what you want changed.

This is how writing actually works. You rarely get it right first time; you get it close, then push it.

A word about references

The Academic Writer will not invent sources for you, and we've made that a hard rule rather than a suggestion.

If Flae can't give you a real, verifiable reference, it either writes the claim without a citation or marks it clearly as [SOURCE NEEDED — verify before submitting]. A citation number pointing at nothing is worse than no citation at all: it looks like fabricated sourcing, and that's the kind of thing that gets students penalised for academic misconduct.

Flae drafts. You verify before you submit. Treat what it writes the way you'd treat a very fast, very well-read friend's first draft — a starting point, not a finished submission. Check your school's policy on AI assistance too; it differs between departments.

Copy and edit your own messages

Tap any message you've sent and you'll now see Copy and Edit. Editing drops the text back into the box so you can reword and send it again — your original conversation stays intact.

More course uploads

Free users can now create 5 courses instead of 2, and Pro users get 12 instead of 10. Max stays unlimited.

Five is roughly a semester's worth of subjects, which is the point — you should be able to set up your actual semester in Flaevo without paying first, and decide afterwards whether it's worth it.

How to get the update

Frequently asked questions

What are Flae Plugins in Flaevo?

Flae Plugins are tools you can point at a conversation with the AI tutor. There are four: Quiz Me, Make Flashcards, Write a Message, and Academic Writer. You open them from the + menu in the AI Tutor, or by typing @ in the message box.

Can Flaevo write my university essay or report?

Flaevo's Academic Writer can draft essays, reports, thesis sections and research writing, and it appears in a card you can copy or share. It is a first draft, not a finished submission — you must verify the content and check your institution's policy on AI assistance before submitting anything.

Does Flaevo make up references?

No. The Academic Writer is instructed never to invent citations, statistics or sources. When it cannot supply a real, verifiable reference it either writes the claim without a citation or marks it explicitly as a placeholder for you to verify before submitting.

How do I copy only the essay and not the whole chat?

Finished writing appears in its own draft card with a Copy button that copies just the draft, as clean plain text, without the tutor's surrounding conversation. There is also a Share button to send it straight to WhatsApp, Gmail or any other app.

How many courses can I upload to Flaevo for free?

Free users can create 5 courses, Pro users can create 12, and Max users have unlimited course uploads.
