Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a binding, legally enforceable contract between you (“User”, “you”, or “your”) and Flaevo (“Flaevo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Flaevo web application, mobile applications, API configurations, and related study tools (collectively, the “Service”).

By clicking “Sign Up”, “Create Account”, downloading the Android installation package (APK), or otherwise accessing the Service, you signify your full agreement to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Ghanaian Compliance: This digital agreement is signed and legally recognized under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772) of the Republic of Ghana. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not register, access, or utilize the platform.

2.1 Age Restraints

You must be at least 13 years of age to register for an account. If you are under 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction), you warrant that you have obtained the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.

2.2 Account Credentials & Authenticity

You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration parameters. Using false identities, registering credentials belonging to third parties, or creating accounts with automated bots is strictly prohibited.

2.3 Confidentiality of Passwords

You are solely responsible for safeguarding the credentials of your account and monitoring all activities performed under your username. Account sharing, concurrent login distribution, or sharing premium access keys with classmates is prohibited. Flaevo is not liable for data loss or compromised profiles resulting from shared password files.

Flaevo provides an artificial intelligence study ecosystem comprising AI tutors (featuring Deep Thinking and Task Modes), automatic semester scheduling study planners, spaced repetition flashcard generators (SRS), text summaries, personal study notebooks, focus timers, Course Podcasts (generating solo or co-hosted revision audio episodes from your materials), and the Screen Share Overlay (a native floating assistant bubble for external document analysis).

We continuously optimize our features to support learners. Flaevo reserves the right to modify, restrict, upgrade, or temporarily suspend aspects of the Service at our sole discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to announce significant feature updates or cancellations through in-app notices or direct email alerts.

3.1 Course Podcasts Usage & Sharing

Course Podcasts are generated for personal study purposes. You are granted a personal, non-transferable license to play, download, and share these study audio files (MP3s) for peer collaboration. However, commercial distribution, public broadcasting, or uploading these AI-generated audios to public streaming platforms as original podcasts is prohibited.

3.2 Screen Share Overlay & Background Capture

The Screen Share Overlay is an optional feature in the Flaevo mobile application that enables active screen-capture analysis of external materials for study purposes. By utilizing this feature, you acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for any content captured on your screen. You agree not to use this tool to capture, transmit, or analyze copyrighted textbooks, private materials without consent, or any illegal or prohibited content. The overlay depends on device-specific operating system permissions (Overlay Drawing and Media Projection) which you can control or revoke at any time.

4.1 Tier Configurations

Flaevo operates on a freemium model. We provide a Free Tier with fixed daily limits on AI queries and summarizations, alongside paid subscription tiers (Pro and Max) with expanded study capacities. Pricing plans and details are displayed transparently in the Upgrade settings.

4.2 Payment Channels (Paystack)

All premium upgrades are processed securely through our local payment gateway, Paystack Payments Limited. By completing an upgrade, you agree to:

• Pay all charges in Ghanaian Cedis (GHS), including transaction fees and standard VAT, as listed.
• Utilize local Mobile Money channels (MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash, AT Money) or debit/credit cards (Visa, MasterCard).
• Authorize automatic renewals on your payment channel corresponding to your billing cycle (monthly or annual) until cancelled.

4.3 Purchases on the Mobile App

Subscriptions are not sold inside the Flaevo Android app. To upgrade from the app, you complete your purchase on our website at flaevoapp.com using the same account, and your plan activates automatically in the app. The app itself does not process any payment.

5.1 Self-Service Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing us at support@flaevoapp.com with the subject “Cancellation Request” (also linked from the FAQ on the Upgrade screen). Cancellation prevents subsequent recurring charges; you will retain active premium capabilities until the expiration date of your prepaid period.

5.2 Refund Guidelines

• Monthly Subscriptions: Monthly subscription charges are strictly non-refundable once processed.
• Annual Subscriptions: You can apply for a full refund within 14 calendar days of your annual purchase, provided your profile logs show minimal AI query utilization (less than 15 total AI messages or document summaries) and no file exports have been performed.
• Failed Transactions: If your card or mobile money auto-debit fails, we allow a 3-day grace period for payment resolution. After this, your account is downgraded to the Free Tier. Your custom study decks and progress records will be safely preserved during downgrades.

6.1 Content Ownership

You retain all intellectual property rights and ownership to the lecture summaries, flashcard titles, practice questions, and study notes you construct on the Service (“Your Content”). Flaevo claims no ownership over your academic submissions.

6.2 License Grant to Flaevo

To run Flaevo, synchronise your database rows between mobile and web devices, and route summaries to AI systems, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, and display Your Content. This license ends automatically when you delete your files or close your account.

6.3 Flaevo Intellectual Assets

The Flaevo logo, brand typography, codebase, custom UI designs, graphic mascot, and styling layouts are the exclusive intellectual property of Flaevo and are protected by international copyright laws and the Copyright Act, 2005 (Act 690) of Ghana. Unauthorized copying, distribution, or decompilation is prohibited.

6.4 My Courses & Uploaded Material

The My Courses feature lets you upload your own study material (slides, notes, past papers) so the Service can generate study aids — overviews, quizzes, flashcards, and AI Tutor answers — grounded only in that material. You retain ownership of what you upload, and you grant Flaevo a limited licence to process and store its text to provide these features to you. You confirm you have the right to upload the material and will not upload content you are not permitted to use. Although the AI is grounded in your material to keep it on-topic, AI-generated study aids may still contain errors or omissions — you remain responsible for verifying them against your official course resources, as set out in Section 9.

To maintain platform reliability and safety, you agree not to engage in the following prohibited behaviors:

• Infrastructure Abuse: Scraping, harvesting, crawling, or extracting data from our databases using automated crawler scripts, plugins, or third-party bots.
• Limit Circumvention: Evading daily query restrictions, decompiling API endpoints, or registering multiple duplicate accounts to claim Free Tier quotas.
• Copyright Infringement: Uploading copyright-restricted materials, premium commercial textbooks, or official exam sheets to public study decks without author consent.
• Harassment: Transmitting hateful, abusive, defamatory, or explicit content inside public group chat rooms or study rooms.

7.1 Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms — including the conduct above, payment fraud, or abuse of other users — with or without prior notice. Where reasonable, and for good-faith violations, we will notify you and give you an opportunity to remedy the issue first. You may stop using Flaevo and delete your account at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Flaevo is dedicated to cultivating active, honest learning environments. By accepting these terms, you sign our Academic Honesty Pledge:

• Study Aid Focus: You agree to use the AI Tutor to clarify complicated concepts and outline study topics, rather than using it as a shortcut to copy/paste final answers into graded academic coursework.
• Live Exam Ban: You are strictly prohibited from using Flaevo during live school examinations, midterms, or standardized tests in a manner that violates your educational institution's academic integrity policies.
• Responsibility: Flaevo is not responsible for disciplinary measures or suspensions you receive from your school due to academic misconduct.

Our artificial intelligence utilities utilize advanced third-party large language models. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Generative AI models can produce factual mistakes, outdated calculations, or context issues (commonly referred to as AI hallucinations).
• You must always cross-reference AI-generated explanations, notes, and quiz solutions with certified academic curriculums and textbooks.
• Flaevo is not liable for poor grades, failed tests, WASSCE performance deficits, or academic outcomes resulting from reliance on AI summaries.

9.1 Exam Rescue Mode — Purpose & Limitations

By using Exam Rescue Mode, you understand and agree to the following:

• No outcome guarantee: Flaevo makes no representation, warranty, or promise — express or implied — that using Exam Rescue Mode will result in improved exam scores, a passing grade, or any specific academic outcome.
• AI-generated content may be incomplete: Flashcards auto-generated from uploaded notes and AI explanations are based on the material provided and the AI model's training data. They may omit critical topics, contain inaccuracies, or not align with your specific school curriculum or examiner's expectations.
• Intended use: This feature is intended to help students organize last-minute revision, recall key concepts, and get quick clarifications — not to replace weeks of prior study, reading your textbooks, or attending lectures.
• Student responsibility: You are solely responsible for the adequacy of your own exam preparation. Flaevo is not liable for any academic consequences, including but not limited to, a failed exam, a poor grade, or loss of a scholarship, arising from your reliance on Exam Rescue Mode.
• Appropriate expectations: Use this feature as one tool among many — alongside your class notes, textbooks, and past questions — rather than as a sole source of exam preparation.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY THE LAWS OF GHANA, FLAEVO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.

FLAEVO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF STUDY DATA, SCORE LOSSES, OR FINANCIAL REVENUE DEFICITS.

IN NO EVENT SHALL FLAEVO'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO FLAEVO FOR PREMIUM SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED GHANAIAN CEDIS (100 GHS).

These Terms and any conflict arising from them shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If a dispute arises, you agree to contact us at support@flaevoapp.com to pursue informal mediation. If the dispute is not settled within 30 days of notification, both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Accra, Ghana.
